What Hyperliquid is
Hyperliquid is a decentralized exchange — an online marketplace for trades that no single company controls. ("Decentralized" means it runs on a public blockchain instead of one company's servers.) It's where the actual trading happens: it keeps the order book (the live list of buy and sell offers), matches buyers with sellers, and records who owns what.
Hyperliquid specializes in perpetuals, or "perps." A perp is a trade that lets you bet on a price going up or down without owning the thing itself. You're not buying Bitcoin — you're betting on which way its price moves. A perp never expires, so you can close it whenever you want.
Hyperliquid is powerful, but its screen is built for experienced traders: order types, charts, margins, and a lot of numbers.
What Bloxwap is
Bloxwap is a trading interface — an app that sits on top of Hyperliquid and makes it simple to use. It's the easiest way to trade. Instead of an order form, you get two buttons:
- Tap up to bet the price will rise (this is called going long).
- Tap down to bet it will fall (going short).
You fund trades with USDC, a digital dollar worth about $1. You can add leverage, which multiplies both your gains and your losses — with 10× leverage, a 1% price move becomes a 10% change in your position.
Bloxwap doesn't run an exchange and never holds your money. It hands your trade to Hyperliquid, where it settles. For the full walkthrough, read What is Bloxwap?
Where they overlap — and where they differ
They share the same market and the same prices. A trade you place through Bloxwap is the exact same trade on Hyperliquid — same order book, same settlement. Bloxwap doesn't change the price or the odds; it only changes how you place the trade.
The differences are all about the experience:
- Custody (who holds your money): Both are non-custodial — your funds stay in your own wallet and you sign every trade yourself. Neither Bloxwap nor Hyperliquid can move your money for you.
- Settlement (where the trade finishes): Every Bloxwap trade settles on Hyperliquid. Bloxwap is the front door; Hyperliquid is the vault.
- User experience: Hyperliquid gives you a full desk of tools. Bloxwap gives you up and down. One is a cockpit; the other is a light switch.
- Fees: You pay Hyperliquid's normal trading fees either way. Bloxwap adds a small fee on top for the convenience. See the exact numbers on the fees page.
When to use each
- Use Bloxwap if you want to trade quickly from your phone, you like the simplicity of two buttons, and you don't need advanced order tools. Most people start here.
- Use Hyperliquid directly if you're an experienced trader who wants limit orders, detailed charts, and fine control over every setting.
You don't have to pick forever. Because both are non-custodial and use the same markets, your positions live on Hyperliquid no matter which app you place them from.
