How much does Bloxwap cost? Fees explained

August 3, 2026

Bloxwap fees explained in plain English — Hyperliquid trading fees, the Bloxwap builder fee, hourly funding, and a worked USDC example.

Short answer: an ordinary tap to open or close a live Bloxwap perp has two trading fee components. You pay Hyperliquid's exchange fee, plus a 5 basis point (0.05%) Bloxwap builder fee. Genesis traders pay a lower Bloxwap fee of 2.5 basis points (0.025%). With ordinary taps, you pay both when you open a position and again when you close it.

For a regular perpetual at Hyperliquid's base taker rate as of August 2026, that is about 0.095% per fill for a standard Bloxwap trader or 0.070% per fill for a Genesis trader. Your exact Hyperliquid rate can differ by wallet and market, so the app calculates it for you.

Bloxwap is a non-custodial, mobile-first app for trading perpetuals on Hyperliquid. A perpetual, or "perp," is a trade with no expiry date. You tap up to go long or tap down to go short, and the trade settles on Hyperliquid. You keep control of your wallet and use USD Coin (USDC), a digital dollar, as your trading balance. New to perps? The two fees on a normal trade

A fill happens when your order matches with another trader's order. A normal tap on Bloxwap trades right away, so it pays Hyperliquid's taker fee. A taker is simply the trader who accepts a price already available in the market.

  1. Hyperliquid exchange fee. As of August 2026, the base taker rate for a regular perp is 4.5 basis points (0.045%). Your rate can differ based on your 14-day trading volume, staked HYPE, referral discount, and the market you trade. Some independently listed markets also have their own fee settings.
  2. Bloxwap builder fee. A builder fee pays the app that sends an order to Hyperliquid. Bloxwap adds 5 basis points (0.05%) to each fill. A verified Genesis wallet pays 2.5 basis points (0.025%) instead.

A basis point, shortened to bps, is one hundredth of one percent. So 5 bps means 0.05%, not 5%. The canonical Bloxwap fee table always lists the current Bloxwap rates and links to Hyperliquid's full schedule.

A full $1,000 USDC example

Suppose you deposit $100 USDC as margin and choose 10× leverage. Margin is the money backing your trade. Leverage makes your position larger, so your $100 controls a $1,000 position.

Fees use the $1,000 position value, not the $100 margin:

  • Hyperliquid base taker fee: $1,000 × 0.045% = $0.45.
  • Standard Bloxwap builder fee: $1,000 × 0.05% = $0.50.
  • Total fee to open: $0.95.

If you later close at the same $1,000 value, closing costs another $0.95. The estimated round trip is $1.90. A Genesis trader would pay about $0.70 to open and $0.70 to close, or $1.40 total.

The close fee can change because your position value and Hyperliquid rate can change. A full flip uses one order for twice your current position size. For example, reversing a $1,000 long into a $1,000 short trades about $2,000 of value. Fees apply to the amount that actually fills, so a partial fill costs less and may not complete the flip. An order that never fills does not pay a trading fee.

Funding is not a Bloxwap fee

Ordinary perp leverage has no old-style Bloxwap tick-distance borrow fee. Perps do have funding: an hourly payment between traders that helps keep the perp price close to the market price. Bloxwap does not collect it.

When the funding rate is positive, long traders pay short traders. When it is negative, shorts pay longs. Hyperliquid values the position using a reference price called the oracle price, and the rate changes over time. If the rate is 0.001% and the oracle values your position at $1,000 at an hourly settlement, the payment is $0.01. Hold through six settlements while both numbers stay the same, and the paying side pays $0.06. The other side receives it. Learn how funding affects your final result in How Bloxwap payouts work.

There is no spam-escalation fee

Current Bloxwap does not raise your fee because you trade quickly or hold several positions. Each filled order pays its normal fees, but the rate does not climb with your position count.

If you find an old Bloxwap table showing a 10% base fee, a tick-distance borrow fee, or a fee increase after four positions, it describes the retired product. That escalation was designed to make rapid position stacking costly and protect the retired system's limited position slots. Those charges do not apply to today's Bloxwap app on Hyperliquid.

For more context, read Bloxwap vs Hyperliquid or check the fees page before you trade. The app's fee estimate is the best number for your wallet and selected market at that moment. Practice trades do not reach the exchange, so they do not pay these fees. This guide covers trading fees. Some ways of moving money into or out of your account can have separate route-specific app, sponsorship, network, or bridge costs; Bloxwap shows those before you confirm the transfer.
